799 euro für 64GB ist mal ne ansage.

Das wohl beste Smartphone aller Zeiten weltweit hat eben seinen (vorläufigen) Preis. Ein niedrigerer Preis wäre mir auch lieber, aber ich bin sehr zuversichtlich, dass der Preis noch nach unten gehen wird.

Man bedenke: 64GB-Version plus 64GB micro SDXC-Karte = 128GB (das sollte erst einmal genügen).

Die 16GB-Version hat meiner Meinung nach mit EUR 599,00 einen sehr akzeptablen Preis.

Wer Zeit und Geduld hat (wie ich), sollte aber abwarten, bis der Preis gefallen ist. Das schont dann auch den Geldbeutel.

Na, wer hat denn das S III bereits erworben? Wie zufrieden seid ihr mit dem Gerät?
Ich selbst warte mit dem Kauf noch ab - bis der Preis deutlich gefallen ist.

Die 64-Gigabyte-Version von Samsungs Galaxy S3 wurde nicht eingestampft, sondern kommt lediglich etwas später. Das geht aus einem generischen Statement hervor, das die Südkoreaner derzeit auf alle diesbezüglichen Anfragen versenden. Demnach wird das Android-Smartphone mit 64 Gigabyte internem Speicher noch dieses Jahr auf den Markt kommen.

Als das Galaxy S3 vorgestellt wurde, hatte man angegeben, dass es sowohl eine 16 als auch eine 32 und 64 Gigabyte große Version geben wird. Auslöser für das Gerücht, letztere komme doch nicht mehr, war die Aussage eines Lesers von GSMArena. Der wollte von dem britischen Händler Expansys die Information erhalten haben, dass Samsung das Gerät mit dem größeren Speicher nicht vermarkten wird. Einige Vorbestellungen sollen zudem storniert worden sein.

Letztlich wird Samsung sein Flaggschiff den aktuellen Informationen zufolge also auch mit 64 Gigabyte internem Speicher auf den Markt bringen, nur ein genaues Erscheinungsdatum gibt es noch nicht - je nach Land wird das Datum variieren. Vorbestellen kann man das S3 mit 64-Gigabyte aber schon jetzt, etwa beim Online-Händler Getgoods für 799 Euro.

Das Update soll per Kies sowie auch per OTA bereitgestellt worden sein. Mir wird es aber bisher auf meinem S III noch nicht angezeigt.

Samsung entfernt Kfz-Modus

Mit dem Update auf Android 4.1.1 wird der Kfz-Modus vom Galaxy S3 entfernt. Ob dieser Modus später mal wieder mit einem Update nachgereicht wird, ist offen, zitiert All About Samsung den Hersteller. Samsung rät dazu, die Anwendung Drive Link über Samsungs Apps zu installieren.

Als weitere Änderung kann das Galaxy S3 nach dem Update mit den Lautstärketasten nicht mehr in den Stummschaltmodus gebracht werden. Wenn die Lautstärke auf den minimalen Wert eingestellt ist, aktiviert sich automatisch der Vibrationsalarm, berichten Nutzer im Android-Hilfe-Forum

Mit der Version 4.0.4 bin ich ja eigentlich zufrieden, und zum Glück bin ich nicht wirklich heiß auf Android 4.1.

Für mein S II ist jetzt übrigens ICS eingetroffen. Doch ich belasse es lieber bei 2.3.4, sonst ist nachher noch mein ROOT weg. Kann jemand etwas dazu sagen, ob meine Befürchtung berechtigt ist?

Ich hatte nun keine Lust mehr, noch länger zu warten. Eigentlich wollte ich ja erst Android 4.1 haben, um dann mein S III zu rooten. Aber nun habe ich es mit 4.0.4 gemacht und bin nach dieser Anleitung vorgegangen. Hat bestens geklappt, dauerte etwa 10 Minuten.

Jetzt sind beide Geräte, S II und S III, gerootet.

Nun ist das Firmware-Update auf 4.1 da. Mal sehen, vielleicht installiere ich es doch, nur muss ich dann wahrscheinlich erneut das Gerät rooten. Bin noch am Überlegen.

Ich habe das FW-Update auf 4.1.1 durchgeführt. Danach war das Gerät ungerootet. Ich musste es also erneut rooten. Das ging diesmal schneller, nur etwa 4 Minuten. Und jetzt ist die Welt wieder in Ordnung: Android 4.1.1 und ROOT
