Vor drei Tagen stellte ich eine App im Zusammenhang mit dem Zwergstaat Liechtenstein vor. Heute und in den nächsten Tagen sollen die anderen Zwergstaaten Europas an die Reihe kommen. Fortfahren möchte ich mit dem Fürstentum Monaco, das mit 2,02 km² nach dem Vatikan der zweitkleinste Staat der Erde ist. Monaco hat knapp 36.000 Einwohner und die höchste Bevölkerungsdichte aller Staaten noch vor der Republik Singapur. Monaco ist konstitutionelle Erbmonarchie, und Staatsoberhaupt ist Fürst Albert II. Albert II. ist Sohn von Fürstin Gracia Patricia, auch bekannt als Schauspielerin Grace Kelly, die zusammen mit Gary Cooper in dem Filmklassiker 12 Uhr mittags (High Noon) die Hauptrolle spielte.

Monaco hat zehn Stadtbezirke und eine Küstenlänge von 4,1 km. Seit 1489 ist Monaco unabhängig.
